They are odorless, tasteless and non-toxic white powder, which can be dissolved in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution. Processing thickening, binding, dispersing, emulsifying, film, coating, suspending, absorbing, gelling, surface activity, water maintaining and protective colloid properties
