vincamine is one of the main alkaloids in Vincamine. It is a white hardwood alkaloid from monoterpene indole alkaloids. Its chemical name is (3α, 14β, 16α)-14, 15-dihydro-14-hydroxyivorienin-14-carboxylate methyl ester, white powder, soluble in acidic solutions. In 1953, Schlittle and Furlenmeier isolated Chemicalbook Vincamine from V. Mainor. In 1962, Trojanek, Mokry, Clauder et al determined its chemical structure. In 1968, Trojanek, Blaha et al. determined the spatial configuration of vincylamine. The structure of the naturally extracted vincylamine is dextral, and the synthetic vincylamine is racemic. To a certain extent, vincylamine has the functions of regulating brain circulation, maintaining nerve homeostasis, protecting nerve and anti-oxidation.
