One of the main attractions of using Low Temperature Carbon Steel Pipes is their use at very low temperature settings. LTCS or as many manufacturers refer to them asA333 Gr 3 Low Temperature Carbon Steel Pipes features properties like moderate strength with toughness down to a temperature as low as - 50°F. Generally, these pipes are well suited to those applications where refrigerants are used during transportation of media.
These properties in combination with its low alloying costs makes the LTCS ASTM A333 Gr 3 Pipe a well-favoured product in transportation industries. In addition to a high content of carbon, these alloys have a high amount of manganese along with trace amounts of sulfur and phosphorus. The fine grain microstructure present in the alloy of ASTM A333 Grade 3 Low Temperature Pipe presents a uniform dispersion of carbides. A specification which covers Low Temperature Carbon Steel Pipes is ASTM A333. Both the seamless and welded variety enveloped in this specification are intended for application at low temperatures. Keeping in accordance with this specification neither the seamless nor the welded pipes that undergo welding operations would contain the addition of a filler metal. Both the A333 Grade 3 Seamless Pipe and welded pipe are required to be treated to regulate their microstructure. impact tests, Tensile tests, hydrostatic tests, as well as nondestructive electric tests are performed on the ASTM A333 Grade 3 Pipe in accordance with detailed obligations.
Heat Treatment
- Normalize by heating to a uniform temperature of not less than 815 °C and cool in air or in the cooling chamber of an atmosphere controlled furnace.
- Normalize as in 1, and, at the discretion of the manufacturer, reheat to a suitable tempering temperature.
- For the seamless process only, reheat and control hot working and the temperature of the hot-finishing operation to a finishing temperature range from 845 to 945°C and cool in air or in a controlled atmosphere furnace from an initial temperature of not less than 845 °C.
- Treat as in 3 and, at the discretion of the manufacturer, reheat to a suitable tempering temperature.

- For the seamless pipes only, heat to a uniform temperature of not less than 815 °C, followed by quenching in liquid and reheating to a suitable tempering temperature, in place of any of the other heat treatments provided above.

Production process
1. Materials: Take the raw materials out of the raw material warehouse or procurement channels, and conduct inspection and sorting;

3. Heating: Use hot blast stove or other heating methods to heat raw materials to the required temperature;
4, annealing: the heated raw materials into the torch box for annealing treatment, in order to improve the mechanical properties of raw materials;
5. Hot rolling: Put the heated raw materials into the hot rolling mill, and process the raw materials through pressure to obtain the required products;
6, cooling: hot rolled products with water or other coolant for cooling, to ensure the stability of the product structure;
7, detection: physical and chemical performance test to determine whether it meets the requirements;
8. Finishing: Organize the products, label them, and prepare them for loading and delivery.
