   300 series stainless steel refers to a family of austenitic stainless steels that contain chromium and nickel as primary alloying elements. The most common alloys in the 300 series are Type 304 and Type 316, which contain 18% chromium and 8-10% nickel. These steels are non-magnetic and offer excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good formability.
