Copper mould is placed in the heart position of continuous casting machine(CCM), its function is to solidify the liquid steel pouring through the Submerged entry nozzle(SEN), guarantees required billet/bloom/slab with enough thick shell to be obtained. Copper mould plays a crucial role in increasing con-casting efficiency as well as improving steel quality.
-Mould material:
The tough working condition of copper mould tube requires its material with excellent tensile strength, enough hardness, low elongation & good thermal conductivity. After many years experiment in our Lab & steel mills, now we are manufacturing copper mould tube with widely accepted material as: SF-CU, CU-AG0.1 & Cu-Cr-Zr.
-Mould plating:
The temperature inside the mould is very high, so in order to prevent inside wall from wearing off & eliminating cracks & defects on the billet surface, by introducing western plating technology, ANSSEN has successfully improved the coalescent strength between copper and plating, as a result, life of copper mould has been elongated by 20~30% compared with traditional ways.
Typical coatings are: Cr, Ni, Cr-Ni, Ni-Fe, Ni-Co.
- Taper design:
Properly taper design will make billet shrinking in a proper curve while passing through, also minimizing the air gap between copper mould & billet Shell.
Along with the development of con-casting technology, ANSSEN has accumulated rich experience in taper designing, our tapers are: Single taper, double taper, triple taper, multiple taper, parabolic taper as well as double parabolic taper.
